Three accused in land fraud arrested from Delhi

The Pauri police arrested three accused members of a gang in Delhi in connection with Rs45 lakh fraud committed in selling land in Kotdwar. The other five accused involved in the case are still absconding with the police searching for them.

According to information provided by the police, Jaunpur- Kotdwar resident Gyanendra Kumar Agrawal had lodged a report in Kotdwar police Kotwali on September 29 stating that some people prepared fake documents of Pradeep Singh and defrauded him of Rs 45 lakh in the name of selling land at cheap rate. The police registered a case against Pradeep Singh under various sections of IPC. On the directions of the Pauri senior superintendent of police Shweta Choubey, the police were working to trace and nab the accused. The documents and information evidence collected during the investigation revealed that Amit Negi alias Goldie, Rahul Singh, Vinod alias Anil, KP Singh, Talvinder Singh, Javed, Pradeep Chamoli and Sita Devi had allegedly hatched a conspiracy targetting Gyanendra Kumar and had duped him of lakhs of rupees.The police team raided various locations to nab the accused.  Acting on a tip off and based on surveillance, the police arrested Amit Negi, Rahul Singh and Vinod from Delhi.

The accused Amit Negi on investigation told the police that the plan was prepared with Talvinder and Vinod was asked to contact Gyanendra to prepare him to purchase land. When Gyanendra was ready to purchase land, Javed and Pradeep Chamoli prepared the fake documents of the land. The fake Aadhaar card of Pradeep Singh prepared was shown when the token money was taken. The arrested accused said that they would inquire the name of the owners of vacant lands and sell such frauds illegally to defraud their victims.
