Tourism & Culture minister organises public feast for devotees at Dasau

Thousands of devotees arrived for offering prayers to Chalda Maharaj at Dasau on Tuesday on the second day of the Jagda at the Mahasu Devta temple in Hanol. The Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj worshipped the deity at Dasau and also organised a Bhandara for the devotees on the occasion.

The Jagda State fair is being celebrated with religious fervour at the Mahasu temple in Hanol area of Dehradun district. On Monday, thousands of devotees offered prayers to the deity amidst folk dances and folk songs. The folk culture of the tribal region of Jaunsar Bawar is on full display during this fair. On Monday night, multitudes of devotees stayed awake and worshipped the deity with folk dances and devotional renditions. After the Shahi Snan of the deity, Mahasu Devta’s emblems were installed again in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple on Tuesday. On the same day, the minister offered prayers to Chalda Maharaj at Dasau and then organised a public feast for the devotees. Thousands of devotees visited the temple on the occasion. It is pertinent to mention here that the Tourism and Culture minister has been striving for quite some time to ensure successful organisation of these religious fairs. He recently informed that a master plan for the Mahasu temple in Hanol will be prepared soon to ensure the planned development of the site.
