In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Tehri district-level Khel Mahakumbh is commencing on December 11. Sharing details, the Tehri district youth welfare officer Pankaj Tiwari said that those hailing from the nine development blocks of the district selected for under- 14, under- 17 and under- 19 age category competitions would take part in the district level sports meet to be held mostly in the Baurari Stadium. The first day of the event would focus on athletics involving all the three age categories while on the second day, there would be athletics, kabaddi and kho- kho competitions. There would be athletics competitions on the third day and the fourth day would focus on kabaddi, volley ball and kho-kho. The fifth day would involve football and badminton matches and judo competitions (to be held in Muni Ki Reti) and the sixth day will see table tennis, karate and taekwondo competitions as well as boxing competitions (to be held in Muni Ki Reti). The boxing competitions will be held on December 16 (Muni Ki Reti) and on December 17 (Narendra Nagar). The winners of the events will be felicitated with cash awards at the end of the district-level sports meet.
