State govt dedicated for welfare & prosperity of poor: CM Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami handed over ownership rights to 2,600 people who were residing on government ( Nazul) land in a programme held at Gandhi Park in Rudrapur of Udham Singh Nagar district on Wednesday. He also handed over ownership letters to 403 beneficiaries of Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana. The CM laid the foundation stones and inaugurated 222 development projects worth Rs 567 crore on the occasion.  Speaking on the occasion the CM said that he is personally very happy to handover the ownership rights to the people. He said it is for the first time since independence that the ownership right has been given. The CM said that when the High Court (HC) had quashed the Nazul policy and had ordered that the land should be freed the State government took the issue to the Supreme Court (SC). In the SC the government’s stand was vindicated and ownership rights were given. Dhami added that the State government also ensured that the people do not get stuck in the process and made arrangements that the government officers and employees come to the doorsteps of the people for completing the formalities of transferring ownership rights. The government also ensured that the process was completed without payment of a single rupee. Dhami said that hailing from a simple family and born in a village he has seen and understood the struggle of life. He said that a major portion of people is dedicated to arrange for the basic requirements such as food, clothing and shelter. The CM said that for most people, the construction of a house is a dream come true. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi played a vital role in ensuring that the ownership right to the people under the Nazul policy is given. Dhami said that the State government is working for welfare and prosperity of deprived sections of the society.  The union minister of State for defence and tourism Ajay Bhat said that the double engine government is working for the welfare of the poor. He expressed gratitude to CM Dhami for giving ownership rights to people residing in Nazul land.
