The Joshimath Bachao Sangharsh Samiti (JBSS) took to the streets on Thursday to protest against the failure of the State government to take any concrete action on their 11-point demands more than 20 days after a decision was sought by the locals on the same.

Local residents of Joshimath under the banner of the JBSS took out a fire torch rally from the Badrinath bus stand to Marwadi Chowk. The protesters expressed their dissatisfaction at continued delay by the government in finding a proper solution to the woes being faced by the families affected by the land subsidence disaster in Joshimath. JBSS convenor Atul Sati said that the committee had made it clear on April 20 that it would resume its protest on May 11 if no concrete action was taken on its 11-point demands by then.
