Police nab man for stabbing roommate within 12 hours

The Dehradun police have nabbed a man accused of stabbing his roommate to death in Rishikesh within 12 hours of the crime. The police informed that the complainant Babu filed a complaint against his roommate Chotu who had allegedly attacked his brother Shiva with a knife on Friday in his absence. He informed the police that his brother died during the treatment in AIIMS-Rishikesh hospital the same day. 

The police filed a case and started an investigation. According to the police,  the complainant, his deceased brother and the accused are from Uttar Pradesh (UP) and were living together in Rishikesh in a rented room. The police informed that since Chotu was on the run after attacking the deceased, the station house officer (SHO) of Rishikesh, Ravi Saini formed three teams to investigate the matter and search the absconding accused. After searching for him at all the possible places, the police finally nabbed him near the old railway station. According to the police, the accused revealed during the investigation that he and the deceased Shiva had a fight on Friday night and he stabbed him in anger, injuring him grievously. He said that he immediately escaped from there and when he later got to know about Shiva’s death, he was planning to flee to his village in UP but the police caught him.
