Police nab gang member with stolen antique items and 10 laptops

The police have nabbed the absconding accused member of a gang for stealing antique items of silver and brass metal from a handicrafts and antique store located on Mussoorie diversion road with 10 stolen laptops. Addressing a Press conference on Monday, the superintendent of police (crime)  Vishakha Ashok Bhadane informed that the owner of an antique store Amjad Ali filed a complaint in the Rajpur police station on Saturday that somebody broke into his store on the night of February 18 and stole many antique items of silver and brass metals. She said that the police registered the complaint, formed teams and immediately started investigation by checking in the Rajpur Road area. The SP informed that the police finally got the information that the accused Kismohan Sahni, a local resident, was trying to flee to some other state from the Railway Station and arrested him near Kanwali Road with the stolen antique items and 10 laptops on Sunday. According to her, he has also confessed to stealing the laptops from a showroom in the Ballupur area with the help of his other three accomplices who have already been arrested by the police before he carried out the antique items’ theft. The police are looking into the background of the accused to find more about his crimes, added the SP.
