Open men’s State level hockey competition concludes in Doon

The open men’s State-level hockey competition ended in Dehradun on Saturday. District sports officer Nidhi Binjola informed that, following the directions of the sports directorate, the district sports office of Dehradun organised a four-day State-level hockey competition which started on January 9 and concluded on January 12. The primary objective of organising the competition was to motivate individuals towards sports, she added.

She further mentioned that the final match of the competition took place on January 12. The match was played between Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital, with Nainital winning by a score of 02-01. Vikas Pant and Roshan scored one goal each for Nainital, while Lalit Negi scored one goal for Udham Singh Nagar, she added.

“The district sports office of Pauri will be organising an under-16 State-level hockey competition, with the objective of promoting hockey in the State. The said competition will commence on January 17 and conclude on January 20. The team from Dehradun will also be participating in the competition,”said Binjola.
