Only 39 new Covid-19 patients reported in U’khand

The state health department reported only 39 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 32 recoveries from the disease in Uttarakhand on Friday.  Death of one patient from Covid-19 was reported on the day by the department.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state has now increased to 3,41,401 while a total of 3,27,346 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state 7355 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.88 and the sample positivity rate is at 5.76 per cent in the state. The authorities collected 23,104 samples in different parts of the state on Friday.

The department reported eight new patients from Dehradun, six each from Haridwar and Rudraprayag, five from Nainital, four from Udham Singh Nagar, three from Pithoragarh, two each from Bageshwar and Champawat and one each from Pauri, Tehri and Uttarkashi on Friday. No new cases of the disease were found from Almora and Chamoli districts on the day. Death of one patient of the disease was reported from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Friday.

The state now has only 698 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 259 patients while Haridwar in the second position with 76 active cases. Pauri has 48, Rudraprayag 46, Udham Singh Nagar 44, Pithoragarh 42, Chamoli 40, Champawat 39, Tehri 31, Nainital 28, Uttarkashi 27, Almora 13 and Bageshwar five active cases of the disease.

The state reported two new cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) and no death from the disease on Friday. A total of 536 patients of Black Fungus have been reported till date in the state and out of them 110 have died.

In the ongoing vaccination drive, the health department vaccinated 59,942 people in 644 sessions held on Friday.  A total of 11,29,213 people have been fully vaccinated so far in the state while 40,12,764 have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
