One caught, two absconding in Govt job scam

The Dehradun police have nabbed the head of a group that has reportedly duped several people of crores of rupees on the pretext of providing them government jobs. According to the police, a resident of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Manish Kumar filed a complaint against the four accused- Kamal Kishore Pandey, Manoj Negi, Chetan Pandey and Lalit Bisht for duping him and some other victims of Rs 62 lakh on the pretext of providing a government job.

According to the complainant, the accused posed as the senior officials posted in the secretariat and even handed him over a forged joining letter, stated the police. The police questioned the complainant and several such victims and gathered the information about the mobile numbers and the account numbers given by the accused to the victims. The police said that several victims had deposited lakhs of rupees in the accounts of the accused and the transaction activity of crores of rupees was also found in latter’s accounts.

According to the police, they have tried to nab the three accused several times at several possible locations but they managed to evade them every time. The police said that they finally nabbed the head of the gang Kamal Kishore Pandey near Tyagi Road in Dehradun. The police informed that he has confirmed all the charges against him. He revealed during the investigation that his brother works as a clerk in the information department, the wife of accused Lalit Bisht works in the Public Works Department (PWD) and another accused Manoj Kumar is a contractual employee in UJVN Limited due to which they have ample knowledge of secretariat and Vidhan Sabha. He said that they conducted a fake interview in a vacant cabin of the secretariat in which the other two accused posed as secretary and additional secretary, as per the police. They prepared forged joining letters but told the victims later that the jobs got cancelled and did not return their money, stated the police. The police said that the other two accused will also be nabbed soon.
