The Uttarakhand unit of Congress party has claimed that there is no discord in the party and the absence of some MLAs from the programmes of Sunday and Monday should not be linked with their displeasure. The media in charge of the Uttarakhand Congress Rajiv Mehrishi said that Rajendra Singh Bhandari and Tilak Raj Behed could not attend these programmes due to illness while former CLP Pritam Singh was busy attending the grieved family members of the victims of the tragic accident in his area in which four youngsters lost their lives. Similarly MLA Vikram Singh Negi was busy at a family function.

The spokesperson of the party Garima Dasauni said that Tilak Raj Behed and Rajendra Bhandari have written letters to the PCC president in which they have informed about their illness. She said former PCC president Pritam Singh made a congratulatory call to the new PCC president Karan Mahara and informed about the reason for his absence. She said that MLAs Mamta Rakesh and Furkan were busy in their area due to the Bhagwanpur incident. Both these leaders were present in Vidhan Sabha on Monday, she said.
