Nine Deaths, 585 new cases of Covid-19 reported in U’khand

The state Health department reported the death of nine patients from Covid-19 in Uttarakhand on Sunday. It also reported 585 new cases and recovery of 1,447 patients of the disease on the day.

The state health department has so far detected 84,452 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 65,917 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 200 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 78.05 per cent on Sunday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 3.36 per cent on the day. 

The authorities reported the death of five patients at Mahant Indiresh Hospital on Sunday while two patients died at India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. One patient each was reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) and Arihant hospital Dehradun on Sunday.

The health department reported 274 new patients from Dehradun, 64 from Haridwar, 54 from Chamoli, 38 from Rudraprayag, 33 from Pithoragarh, 28 from Nainital, 27 from Uttarkashi,  21 from Pauri, 16 each from Tehri and Udham Singh Nagar, six from Bageshwar, five from Almora and three from Champawat on Sunday.

 The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 15,712.  Dehradun with 8,071 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 2,192 active cases of the disease which is followed by Haridwar district with 1,485 active cases. Uttarkashi is at the bottom of the table with 87 active cases of the disease.  In the ongoing vaccination drive 25,585 people were vaccinated in 1,036 sessions in the state held on Sunday.
