Monday, 23 February 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that all will have to look for the answer to the question- who wants to spoil the future of youth, adding that the State government is working towards resolving this issue. He said that there will be no compromise with the dreams and ambitions of the youth, stressing that those found guilty of malpractices in recruitment exams will now face 10 years to life in prison and their property will also be seized. Asking why nobody so far had touched the mafia involved in examination malpractices, Dhami said that he knew that attempts will be made to scare the government following the decision to act against this mafia. The CM asked these and other questions while speaking at a sports and cultural festival held in Kalsi on Sunday. He also announced various developmental measures for the region on the occasion.

He said, “Whose government sent the accused to jail? Before coming to this programme I was being told to avoid coming here as I would face opposition. I decided to come here and will ask anyone opposing if any CM in the past sent members of the malpractice mafia to jail-action has been taken against more than 60 people so far. Did any government cancel the exams on complaints of irregularities and permitted re-examination shortly afterwards? Whose government brought the nation’s strongest anti-copying law in the State? It should also be seen if some organisation is working to protect such mafia elements.”

Dhami said that the State government is working under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance to make Uttarakhand a model State. Youth empowerment is a vital requirement for this for which various steps are being taken. Uttarakhand is the first State which has effectively implemented the National Education Policy-2020. It has also introduced a new sports policy with provisions being made in it to encourage the young players of Uttarakhand.

Dhami announced that approval will be granted for filling all medical staff positions as per standards in the Kalsi community health centre. Drinking water scheme will be built at Icchadi, Khadas and Tons river from Nagthat to Boradanda in Kalsi block while a motor road will be built from Burasi to Ghanata and from Kalsi to Bonatkhai. Three kilometre stretch of the Khatwa motor road in Chakrata block will be reconstructed.

Vikasnagar MLA Munna Singh Chauhan said that the nation is progressing swiftly under PM Modi while Uttarakhand is developing under CM Dhami. Dehradun district Panchayat president Madhu Chauhan, Kalsi block Pramukh Mathor Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
