U’khand reports highest single day recoveries

80 deaths, 3658 new patients reported on Thursday

In a positive trend in the fight against the pandemic of Covid -19 in Uttarakhand, the authorities reported highest single day recoveries from Covid 19 on Thursday. The state health department reported 8006 recoveries from the disease on the day. The department also reported 3658 new cases of the disease Thursday which increased the cumulative count of the disease to 3,03,940. With the highest single day recovery the number of recovered patients increased to 2,24,535 on Thursday. The recovery percent now stands at 73.87 and the sample positivity rate is 6.91 percent.

Eighty patients of the disease lost their lives to the disease on the day after which the death toll has mounted to 5484. The authorities added 79 more deaths in the tally on Thursday. These deaths had occurred in the past but were not reported earlier by the hospitals.

Out of the 80 deaths reported on Thursday, 11 occurred at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, nine at Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani, seven at District hospital Rudrapur, four each at Himalayan hospital, Kailash hospital, Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun. Similarly death of three patients each was reported at Medicity Rudrapur, HNB base hospital Srinagar, Velmed hospital Dehradun and Military hospital Dehradun.

The provisional state capital Dehradun reported 566 new cases of the disease on Thursday. Haridwar reported 548, Udham Singh Nagar 503, Nainital 414, Tehri 315, Bageshwar 278, Chamoli 205, Pithoragarh 189, Almora 182, Pauri 151, Rudraprayag 143, Champawat 93 and Uttarkashi 71 new cases of the disease on Thursday.

The state now has 68,643 active patients of the disease. Dehradun continues to remains at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 20,217 patients; Haridwar has 11,313, Pauri 6,195, Udham Singh Nagar 6,493, Tehri 5,209, Nainital 5,298, Almora 2408, Rudraprayag 2601, Chamoli 2366, Uttarkashi 2,162,  Pithoragarh 1,703, Bageshwar 1,643 and Champawat 1,035 active cases of the disease.  To contain the contagion of Covid-19, the state administration has set up 558 containment zones in different parts of the state. 

In the ongoing vaccination drive only 15,959 people were vaccinated in 295 sessions in different parts of the state on Thursday.
