There being some relief from the cold wave conditions in the plains, the temperature is forecast to rise noticeably in Dehradun and in other places on Tuesday. According to the state meteorological centre, light to moderate rain/snowfall is likely to occur at a few places in the mountainous areas while very light to light rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in the plains on Tuesday. Further, snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 2,500 metres and above.
The provisional state capital Dehradun is likely to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with the possibility of light rain towards afternoon/evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 21 degrees Celsius and eight degrees Celsius respectively on Tuesday in Dehradun.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the state on Monday were 22.4 degrees Celsius and 5.9 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 21.5 degrees Celsius and 4.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 14.7 degrees Celsius and 4.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 17 degrees Celsius and 4.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
