In a joint Press conference of the Akhil Bharatiya Kashyap Nishad Bind Ekta Samata Mahasangh and Akhil Bharatiya Pichda Varg Ekta Mahasangh, its national president Santosh Kashyap said that both the federations and the Kashyap community have unanimously decided to provide conditional support to the Bharatiya Janata Party. She said that the Kashyap community has a considerable presence in about 20 Assembly constituencies. However, the community which supports BJP and PM Narendra Modi was disappointed at none of its members being fielded by the party in the election. The community has prepared an 11-point demand letter seeking representation for senior members of the community in the government, inclusion of the community in scheduled caste one ticket in each Assembly constituency in district Panchayat polls and other demands. This document was given to all BJP candidates in Haridwar district and they have assured that they will work on the same.
