Meteorological centre warns of heavy to very heavy rainfall

The State meteorological centre has stated on Friday that conditions are favourable for advance of southwest monsoon over some parts of Uttarakhand during the next two days. The centre has also issued a warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, very intense to extremely intense showers and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in the State on Saturday. The meteorological centre has further issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places in the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness partly to generally cloudy skies. Few spells of rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur today with the possibility of one to two spells likely to be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Friday were 31.7 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.6 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.4 degrees Celsius and 17.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.6 degrees Celsius and 20.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
