Himgiri Zee University now Jigyasa University

The Himgiri Zee University (HZU) has undergone a name change to Jigyasa University with the endorsement of Uttarakhand Governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh. The vice chancellor of the university BS Narendra Parashar shared this information during a Press conference held here on Saturday.

Addressing the media he emphasised that the primary aim behind renaming the university is to redefine its trajectory and empower individuals in molding a more prosperous educational future. This rebranding signifies the institution’s progression and steadfast commitment to promoting inquisitiveness, analytical thinking and exploration in the quest for knowledge, he said.

He further added that as it embarks on this new chapter as Jigyasa University, the establishment reaffirms its dedication to fostering intellectual curiosity, academic rigor and social responsibility. Its commitment to providing exceptional education and nurturing the next generation of leaders remains unwavering, he claimed. Expanding on the initiatives, Parashar mentioned the continuation of the teacher training program conducted in the college, enabling teachers to instruct students more effectively. Additionally, at the end of each semester, the university always solicits feedback from students regarding the facilities and overall experience. He mentioned that last year, the university achieved an average placement rate of 80 per cent. He further assured that all academic programmes, campus facilities and ongoing initiatives will proceed without interruption. He added that the transition to the new name will be smooth for both current and prospective students.
