Heavy rain forecast in parts of 3 districts after hot & humid Friday

Some parts of Dehradun experienced rainfall while humidity and heat were experienced in the provisional State capital and other parts of the State on Friday. However, the State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Dehradun and Bageshwar districts on Saturday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning & intense/very intense spells are likely to occur at isolated places in the State’s districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in the State on Saturday.

Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain/thundershowers likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Saturday.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 34.2 degrees Celsius and 26.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.6 degrees Celsius and 15.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26.7 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 49.5 millimetres rain in Nainidanda, 33 millimetres in Narendranagar and 32 millimetres in Rikhnikhal.
