Health Dept sounds alert as rain fury hits U’khand

The Health department is alert following  heavy rains in the different parts of the State have made the State Health department alert. The department has started bracing itself to meet the challenge posed by the vector and water diseases. Diseases like dengue, cholera, malaria and others usually increase during the rainy season.

The director general of state health services Dr Vinita Shah held a video conferencing session with all the chief medical officers, chief medical superintendents of hospitals and other officers of the department on Tuesday. In the meeting she directed that all officers and other employees should remain present in their offices during the monsoon season. She directed that barring special cases the leaves of the employees of the department will not be accepted.

She said that the officers should ensure that all the necessary medicines are there in the stock of the hospitals and they should remain prepared to meet to deal with the disaster. The DG ordered that all the employees should compulsorily register their attendance on the biometric machines in all the offices. The order for installation of CCTV cameras and biometric machines in all the hospitals was also given. In the meeting instructions were given to the CMOs to provide complete information to the headquarters on the occurrence of malaria, dengue, cholera and other water and vector borne diseases during the ongoing monsoon period.

 The DG said that the awareness campaign against these diseases should be undertaken in the society with the involvement of the Asha workers. The director Medical health Dr Sunita Tamta, additional director Dr Bhagirathi Jangpangi, assistant director Dr Mayank Badola and others were present on the occasion.
