Former Haridwar MP Harpal Sathi and his supporters returned from the Congress to the Bharatiya Janata Party here on Monday in the presence of BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank among others.

Speaking on the occasion, the former MP said that he had been connected with the BJP since the term of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. “Due to various reasons I had left the BJP but realized my mistake and returned to the BJP. The BJP is one such party which has always been dedicated to the nation and works consistently for all sections of society. Correcting the errors I have committed, I will now remain devoted to the party organisation. Other parties use people and then leave them whereas the BJP always works for its party workers and public interest,” said Sathi.

BJP State president Bhatt said that the party is consistently working for the development of all sections of society. This is the reason why people from all sections of society are consistently joining the party. The policies and actions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami are also playing an important role in attracting people to the party. The BJP is consistently working for the welfare of all sections of society especially the deprived section and the results of these efforts are now becoming visible. “The people are now getting the benefits of all facilities and schemes via DBT in their accounts. This is the first time when the poor are getting benefits of welfare schemes without any hassles. This is the reason for the anxiety of other political parties,” he said. Nishank said that members of other political parties across the State are joining the BJP impressed by the work of PM Modi and CM Dhami. In Haridwar, the leaders of AAP, Congress and BSP have left their parties to join the BJP. The manner in which people from across the spectrum are joining the BJP is a sign of the resounding victory the party is going to achieve in the 2024 parliamentary election, he added.
