In latest news from Uttarakhand, the former chief minister and veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat has sustained minor injuries in a car accident that happened on Dohara Road in Bazpur in Udham Singh Nagar district around midnight. It is learnt that the speeding car the in which the former CM was travelling in hit a divider while heading towards Kashipur from Haldwani. The injured Rawat was first taken to a community health centre in Bazpur from where he was shifted to a higher health centre in Kashipur. The doctors who treated him said that he might have sustained internal injuries.
On receiving the news of the accident, the circle officer Bazpur Bhupendra Singh Bhandari rushed to the accident site and took the injured leader first the government-run health centre and then to a private hospital in Kashipur. Later, he was discharged from the hospital.
