Ensure transparent process of transfer of teachers: Rawat to officers

The Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that the lecturers posted in the schools located in the plains areas for more than 10 years will be transferred to the schools in the mountainous areas.

 Interacting with the media persons at his Vidhan Sabha office on Tuesday the minister said that the process of transfers would be transparent and the teachers posted in the Sugam (easy to access ) schools for years would be shunted out and replaced by eligible teachers posted in Durgam (difficult to access) areas.

  He said that transfers from Durgam to Durgam category would be done in the first phase and it would be followed up by the mutual, on request and compulsory transfers.  The minister informed that the result of Uttarakhand board would be declared on May 25 or 26.

Rawat held a review meeting with the officers of the education department at Vidhan Sabha auditorium on Tuesday. In the meeting he directed the officers to work on the concept of cluster schools. He said that district level meetings should be held to discuss all the aspects so that nearby schools can be merged into a cluster school. Rawat directed that the budget for repair of the school buildings, construction of new buildings, purchase of computers and sports material should be released within a month.

Expressing his displeasure over delay in distribution of textbooks, the minister directed that the textbooks should be made available without any delay.

He directed that a nodal officer at State level should be appointed for better conduction of virtual classes. Rawat said that regular holding of these classes would help the students of remote areas. On a terse note the minister said that the approved budgets should be spent within the stipulated time frame.  

The School Education secretary Ravinath Raman, School Education director general Banshidhar Tiwari, director of Secondary Education Seema Jaunsari and other officers were present in the meeting.
