STF nabs two wanted robbers for daylight robbery at gunpoint

The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) on Friday arrested two robbers wanted on charges of robbing Rs 1.5 lakh from a finance employee at gunpoint under Haridwar’s SIIDCUL area on February 15. The senior superintendent of police of STF Ayush Agrawal informed that a man named Rahul Kumar worked for a finance company and collected installments for it from the people of the Hazara Grant village of Bahadrabad block on the 15th day of every month. According to him, some men robbed him at gunpoint on February 15 and threw his bike keys far to ensure he could not chase them. The SSP said that síx accused were found to be involved in the robbery. The Haridwar police team was able to identify and locate two accused after analysing footage from several CCTV cameras. When the police approached them to nab them, they opened fire at the team but were eventually caught by the police. The police also arrested the third accused later. The Haridwar SSP announced a reward of Rs 10,000 each on the three absconding accused. Agrawal said that the STF team started investigating the matter and got information about the two accused of hiding in Uttar Pradesh and Haridwar. Following this, an STF team was immediately sent to UP that arrested Ankit Kumar from the Fatehpur area of the Saharanpur district. The second absconding accused Arun alias Raja was arrested in Haridwar’s Laksar.  The third accused Nakul is still absconding and will be nabbed soon too, the SSP added.
