Dry weather likely to prevail in State today

Some places in the mountainous districts of the State witnessed light rainfall while higher reaches experienced light snowfall on Monday. However, dry conditions are expected today with the State meteorological centre forecasting that dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the State on Tuesday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 29 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius respectively.

Some places in the mountainous regions experienced light rainfall on Monday with 7.5 millimetres in Ghat, 2.5 millimetres each in Jankichatti and Pandukeshwar, and one millimeter in Harshil. Light snowfall was also witnessed in some high altitude regions. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Monday were 29.6 degrees Celsius and 15.1 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.4 degrees Celsius and 12.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20 degrees Celsius and 9.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 22.6 degrees Celsius and 9.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
