Rs 350 Crore for planned development of Gairsain

The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that the government has approved a sum of Rs 350 crore for development of summer capital region of Gairsain. Talking to the media persons, the CM said that a budget of Rs 50 crore has been allocated for infrastructure, Rs 15 crore for secretariat, Rs 106 crore for drinking water projects, Rs 2.42 crore for stadium, Rs 93.25 crore for construction of roads in the area and Rs 11.50 crore for upgradation of Community Health Centre (CHC). He said that for doubling of Diwalikhal- Bharadisain road a sum of Rs 8.87 crore would be spent. Similarly Rs 2.5 crore would be for a food processing unit, Rs five crore for bus depot, Rs one crore for skill development and Rs two crore for police barracks in Gairsain. 

The CM reiterated that his government is committed to planned development of Gairsain. He said that a tender would be floated for planned development of Gairsain. He added that the helipad at Gairsain would be expanded so that three MI helicopters can land on it at a time. It is being done in view of expected visits of Prime Minister or President, he said. The CM said that headquarters of tea board would be set up in Gairsain and a nature trek would be developed in Benital near Gairsain.
