Direct & emotional connect needed between administration & public: Governor

The governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh stressed on the need for direct and emotional connect between the administration and the public for top to bottom and bottom to top flow of the administration. The problems of the public can be resolved by the joint efforts of hard working and alert officers along with the teams. He also stressed on the use of technology for empowering the citizens.  The governor said this after presenting the excellent district magistrate award 2022 to five DMs on the occasion of Good Governance Day here on Sunday. He presented the awards to Haridwar DM Vinay Shankar Pandey, Nainital DM Dhiraaj Singh Garbyal, Pauri DM Ashish Chauhan, Rudraprayag DM Mayur Dixit and Chamoli DM Himanshu Khurana.

Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that the district administration has an important role in good governance and is vital for better implementation of government schemes. He appreciated the DMs who received the award for being alert and honest in resolving the problems of the public. Singh said that the aim of good governance is to ensure inclusive and all round development. “Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who was a great leader was also considered the personification of good governance. Good governance is very important for the empowerment of our citizens,” he said.
