Covid count mounts to 61,261 in U’khand

Two deaths, 304 fresh cases reported on Wednesday

The tally of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in Uttarakhand mounted to 61,261 on Wednesday with the state health department reporting 304 fresh cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of two patients of the disease on the day which increased the death toll to 1,009. The authorities discharged 463 patients of the disease from different hospitals of the state after their recovery from the disease. A total of 56,073 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state. The percentage recovery from the disease in the state is at 91.53 per cent and out of the total samples tested 6.21 per cent have tested positive for Covid-19.

One patient of Covid-19 each was reported dead at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and Sushila Tiwari Government Hospital Haldwani on Wednesday.

The authorities reported 79 cases of the disease from Dehradun, 47 from Nainital, 38 from Pauri Garhwal, 29 from Haridwar, 23 each from Rudraprayag and Chamoli, 18 from Udham Singh Nagar, 14 from Tehri, 10 from Bageshwar, six from Uttarkashi, five from Pithoragarh and four from Almora district.

Out of 463 patients discharged on Wednesday, 127 are from Dehradun and 85 from Nainital.

Uttarakhand now has 3,696 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district with 870 active cases is at top of table while with 466 active cases Pauri district has jumped to second position. Nainital has 381, Haridwar 398, Udham Singh Nagar 240, Uttarkashi 237, Tehri 212, Chamoli 191, Rudraprayag 198, Pithoragarh 178, Champawat 134 and Bageshwar 105 active cases of the disease. With 86 active cases of Covid-19, Almora is now at the bottom of the table.

Kedarnath MLA Rawat tests positive for Covid-19

Congress MLA from Kedarnath, Manoj Rawat has been found positive for Covid-19. Rawat was tested for the disease on Tuesday after which he was found positive. Rawat was admitted to the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Wednesday. The doctors treating him termed his condition as satisfactory.
