Covid-19 : Seven deaths, only 285 new cases in U’khand

The state health department reported the death of seven patients from Covid 19 in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. It also found 285 new cases of the disease in the state on the day. On a good note 1309 patients were reported cured from the disease on Tuesday which substantially reduced the active case count in the state.

The department has so far detected 88,996 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 80,695 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 242 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 90.70 per cent on Tuesday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 2.0 per cent on the day.  

The authorities reported the death of two patients at Kailash hospital on Tuesday. Similarly one patient each died at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital, Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and Velmed hospital Dehradun on the day.

 The health department reported 86 new patients from Dehradun, 50 from Chamoli and 34 from Almora on Tuesday.

The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 5,217.  Dehradun with 2,417 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 786 active cases of the disease. Bageshwar is at the bottom of the table with 28 active cases of the disease.  In the ongoing vaccination drive 17,955 people were vaccinated in 1094 sessions in the state held on Tuesday.
