Covid-19 Cases increasing in Dehradun

One death was reported on Monday. Doon now has more than 70 % active cases of the state

The provisional state capital of Uttarakhand Dehradun is showing an increase in cases of Covid-19. On Monday death of one patient occurred in Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dehradun. In the state nine cases of the disease were reported on Monday out of which seven were from Dehradun alone.

 Interestingly more than 70 per cent of the active cases of the disease in the state are from Dehradun. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,44,115 while a total of 3,30,376 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state, 7405 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 virus till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 96.01 per cent while the sample positivity rate on Monday was 0.13 per cent. 

The state health department reported seven new patients from Dehradun and one each from Haridwar and Pauri on Monday. No new case of Covid-19 was reported from the remaining ten districts on the day.

The state now has 175 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 126 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Champawat have no active cases of the disease now. In the ongoing vaccination drive 50,916 people were vaccinated in 1057 sessions in the state held on Monday.
