Covid-19 active cases mounting in U’khand

The carelessness shown by the general public in following the Covid-19 prevention guidelines is getting reflected in the increased number of Covid-19 cases and the active cases count in Uttarakhand. 

On Saturday, the State Health department reported 54 new cases of the Covid-19 from different parts of the state which increased the active case count to 323. Death of no patient was reported in the state on the day.  The authorities also declared 27 patients cured from the disease on the day.  The department has so far detected 93,713 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 89,784 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 278 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 95.81 per cent on Saturday. The positivity rate of the disease was at 3.21 per cent on the day.  

 The health department reported 30 new patients each from Dehradun, seven each from Nainital and Uttarkashi, six from Haridwar and two each from Chamoli and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Saturday. No new cases were reported from Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Tehri and Rudraprayag districts on the day. 

The number of active patients of Covid-19 in the state increased to 323 on Saturday. Dehradun with 206 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 41 and Nainital 29 active cases of the disease.  Rudraprayag is the only district which has no active cases of the disease now.

 In the ongoing vaccination drive 9,069 people were vaccinated in 778 sessions in the state held on Saturday.
