The Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged that the Congress is now relying on allegations and counter-allegations while unsuccessfully trying to spread confusion as it fears its impending defeat in the Bageshwar Assembly by-elections. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the BJP has nothing to do with any arrests made in Bageshwar. If the investigation agency, special task force or another body makes arrests in some case, the matter is related to the department concerned. The BJP has not interfered in the work of the investigation agency and the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has proved in past cases that the investigation agencies have always been given a free hand to discharge their duty without any interference. Chauhan said, “The BJP is contesting the Bageshwar by-election on the issue of development and it is receiving the support of the public. The Congress is under the misapprehension that its electoral chances will improve by spreading propaganda but this is not easy. The late Chandan Ram Dass had served Bageshwar well and this is why the people elected him repeatedly. The people have decided that they will elect his wife as a tribute to him. The people will not let the Congress succeed in its intentions,” said the BJP State media in-charge.
