CM grants approval to various departmental schemes

Chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat granted approval to various departmental works on Thursday. The CM approved Rs 631.69 lakh worth of works of the Public Works Department (PWD) including tarring of Bairatkhai-Jandeu-Gagron motor road in Chakrata assembly constituency and improvement of the Bijau-Kuitha-Khatar motor road in Kalsi development block. He also granted Rs 119.34 lakh financial approval for construction of motor road from Bigradi to Kanda at Naugaon under Purola assembly constituency under the PWD’s SCSP. Financial approval was also granted to Rs 341.17 lakh work of constructing Uchna-Dahchal motor road from Katmun bridge in Jakholi area of Rudraprayag assembly constituency.

Under the cooperatives department, approval has been granted under supplementary demand to Rs four crore for 40 new branches of district cooperative bank in 2020-21. Similarly, under the drinking water department, the CM has granted approval to various works in pursuance of the chief minister’s announcements. Under the Jal Jeevan mission, Rawat granted approval to releasing Rs 734.772 lakh against Rs 5878.18 lakh spent. Under the irrigation department in the current financial year, Rs 391.08 lakh financial approval was granted for project for renovation of Phika barrage at Tumaria and Tumaria extension dam in Jaspur. The CM also granted financial approval to the Rs 177.59 lakh recommended for development of tourism destination centre in Pithoragarh. Under basic education, Rawat granted Rs 493.35 lakh financial approval for reconstruction of 17 schools and other works. He also granted Rs 27 crore financial approval for various works under higher education department and Rs 594 lakh financial approval for salary wage under technical education department. For construction works aimed at welfare of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward class, the CM granted financial approval to Rs 235.59 lakh. For steel girder bridge on Ranipur lake in Haridwar under Kumbh Mela works, the CM granted Rs 918.30 lakh financial approval along with Rs 751.94 lakh financial approval or various necessary arrangements to be made for the travelers. Rawat also granted approval for various works under different departments.
