Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conferred Atal Nirmal Nagar Puraskar (ANNP) to the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD), Muni Ki Reti municipality and Nandprayag Nagar Panchayat on Monday for securing top ranks in their respective categories of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of the State in the Swachchh Survekshan (SS) 2022. He also felicitated five civic bodies with Swachchhata Gaurav Samman (SGS) for securing top level ranks at the national level in SS22.
Dhami felicitated the representatives of nine civic bodies with ANNP and five with SGS in an event organised at the CM residence. The winners were chosen for both awards on the basis of their performance in SSS22. The MCD got first prize with cash reward of Rs 20 lakh and the municipal corporations of Roorkee and Rishikesh got second and third prize with cash rewards of Rs 15 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively. Among municipalities, Muni Ki Reti, Narendranagar and Doiwala got first, second and third prizes with cash reward of Rs 15 lakh, Rs 10 lakh and Rs eight lakh respectively. Besides this, Nagar Panchayats of Nandprayag, Sultanpur and Gularbhoj also got top three positions under ANNP with cash rewards of Rs 10 lakh, Rs seven lakh and Rs five lakh respectively.
The Municipal Corporation of Haridwar (MCH), Landour cantonment board and civic bodies of Ramnagar and Doiwala were also felicitated with SGS award for getting top positions in SS 22 at national level in their respective categories. The CM termed the selection of nine civic bodies from the State for felicitation under SS 22 this year as a matter of pride. He said that civic bodies are the mirrors of the State and consistent efforts are needed to improve the situation here. He also made important announcements on the occasion. He said that a total amount of cash prize for ANNP would be increased from Rs one crore to Rs two crore. He said that an incentive amount of Rs 5,000 each will be given to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Urban. Paryavaran Mitras would be given additional honorarium for food and warm uniforms during the Char Dham Yatra, he said.
