Pantnagar police find a missing man’s body with drone’s help

In latest Uttarakhand news, Pantnagar police found the body of a man missing for three days with the help of a drone from an irrigation canal near a maize field in Anandpura area of Pantnagar. Police said that after futile search operation for two hours, they took the help of drone and found the body floating in the canal. The forensic and police teams reached the spot and took the body in their custody. Later, it was sent for postmortem.

Police informed that the deceased was identified as Munna Chowdhury (48), resident of Gangapur and a labourer in a SIIDCUL –based factory. He would go cycling every morning to collect fodder for the cattle. The same happened on Saturday as he left with his cycle at 5 am. But he did not return till 8 am-the time he was to reach the factory for work. His relatives looked for him and having failed to find him, filed a complaint at the police station. Police started the searching operation and found his cycle abandoned on the side of a road a little away from Anandpura. However, police failed to trace him. After abortive attempt to find the missing man, police decided to take the help of a drone.  Finally, police found the body floating in an irrigation canal. The body got bloated and was nearly unidentifiable. Later, police sent for Munna’s family members and they identified it.
