In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Hyderabad-based construction company Navayug Engineering Company Limited, which was entrusted with constructing the all-weather road’s Silkyara tunnel where the collapse mishap occurred trapping 41 workers inside, looks all set to construct a temple dedicated to the local deity Bokh Naag near the entrance of the tunnel at Silkyara. The company’s project manager Rajesh Panwar said that the bhoomi puja had already been held and the temple construction work will begin once tunnel construction work resumes, adding that a host of the company officers were present during the puja. Notably, as the evacuation suspense persisted for days with back-to-back hiccups stalling things, the locals had urged the company officials to propitiate the local deity Bokh Naag to ensure safe evacuation of the 41 trapped workers. It was then that a small temple was built dedicated to the deity by the construction company. Since then, puja is being held twice, in the day and evening, daily. The work involving the tunnel construction along the stretch from Silkyara to Barkot has remained suspended.  Asked when the work would resume, Panwar said they had no idea, adding that they were waiting for the work resumption order.
