Arya hands over IOA flag to CM for 38th National Games

The Sports minister presented the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) flag to the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in the run up to the  38th National Games that will take place in Uttarakhand next year. The flag was ceremoniously handed over during an event held on Tuesday to honor the athletes who had won medals in the 37th  National Games.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhami expressed his pride in receiving the flag and commended the State’s commitment to sports development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the state government has also implemented various schemes, such as the Chief Minister Udyam Yojana, Chief Minister incentive scheme and increased food allowances, as a testament to the government’s commitment to the welfare of the players. Dhami also emphasised the importance of having a personal resolution to achieve success in life.

Further, Arya congratulated everyone for receiving the IOA flag and successfully presenting it to the chief minister. She emphasised that the State government is actively taking measures to boost the confidence of the players. Presently, the Chief Minister Udyyaman Yojana is being implemented to enhance the sports talent of children aged between eight to 14 years. Under this scheme, a monthly scholarship of Rs 1,500 is being provided to 150 boys and 150 girls from each district, as well as to children aged 14 to 23 years. Additionally, the Chief Minister’s incentive fund for boys and girls includes a monthly amount of Rs 2,000 given to 100 boys and girls from every district. Arya also informed that the state government is planning to establish a sports university in order to further benefit the sports players.
