Anganwadi workers’ stir enters day 23

In latest news from Uttarkhand, the work boycott stir of Anganwadi workers in Uttarkashi has entered its 23rd day. The agitating workers said that the honorarium they are receiving are meagre as compared to the volume of work they are doing. Notably, they are demanding the honorarium to be raised to Rs 600 per day and Rs 18,000 per month.

The workers are staging sit-in at the district colectorate premises in Uttarkashi town. Some locals and organisations are also joining them by way of showing their solidarity with their agitation. With the administration sitting on the demands, they reiterated their resolve to carry on with their work boycott stir.
