The general secretary of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Navin Johsi has said that the government should ensure that elections in the Urban Local Bodies of State are held on time. Raising a question mark on the affidavit filed by the state government in the Uttarakhand High Court (HC), Joshi said that the government has appointed administrators in the ULBs without suspending the elected boards which shows that the ruling BJP has no faith in democracy. He said that the BJP is only interested in clinging to power by using every method. Joshi added that in the affidavit the government has submitted that it has started the process of elections and reservations but the truth is that the government wants to postpone the election as it is wary of its impending defeat. Joshi said that the government has no right to appoint administrators without suspending the ULBs.
