Covid-19; 264 new cases, 345 recoveries in U’khand

The state health department reported 264 new cases of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 345 recoveries from the disease on Thursday in Uttarakhand. The department also reported the death of seven patients from the disease on the day. The cumulative count of patients in the state has now increased to 3,38,066 while the death toll from the disease has climbed to  7011. A total of 3,21,807 patients have so far recovered from the disease in Uttarakhand. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.19 and the sample positivity rate is at 6.47 percent in the state.

Out of the seven deaths reported on the day, one patient each died at Mahant Indiresh hospital, Military hospital Dehradun, Himalayan hospital Dehradun, Arogyadham hospital Dehradun, Arogyam hospital Roorkee,  Sushila Tiwari Haldwani and Sanjeevni hospital Kashipur.

The authorities also reported the death of seven patients on Thursday which had occurred in the past but were not reported earlier.

 Dehradun district reported 55, Haridwar 45, Pithoragarh 27, Champawat 26, Udham Singh Nagar 24, Almora 17, Pauri 14, Bageshwar and Nainital 12 each, Tehri 11, Chamoli eight and Uttarkashi six new cases of the disease on Thursday.

The state now has 3,471 active patients of the disease. Pithoragarh district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 528 cases while Haridwar is in second position with 525 active cases. Dehradun has 314, Pauri 313, Almora has 275, Nainital 234, Tehri 213, Champawat 212, Chamoli 167, Rudraprayag 157 Uttarkashi and Udham Singh Nagar 123 each active cases of the disease.  

 The state reported ten new cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) on Thursday after which it now has 423 patients of the disease. Death of two patients from Black Fungus was also reported on the day. A total of 73 patients have so far died from this disease while 49 have recovered. 

In the ongoing vaccination drive against the contagion of Covid 19 a total of 30,400 people were vaccinated in 385 sessions in different parts of the state on Thursday. A total of 7,24,326 people have been fully vaccinated while 27,46,152  have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state so far.
