4th International Conference by CGLA concludes in Doon

The three-day Fourth International Conference organised by the Central Government Library Association (CGLA) in collaboration with the Doon Library and Research Centre (DLRC) concluded on Sunday. This conference was organised in the auditorium of DLRC from February 24 to 26 on the theme ‘digital revolution: moving towards the development of smart government libraries’. Several librarians and experts associated with library science presented many research papers during this conference. Besides this, various technical sessions related to digital management, information management and research and publication were also organised in the past three days.

The experts also discussed six decades of technology in libraries from print to digital on artificial intelligence and machine learning at the conference. Besides this, technological changes in Library & Information Science taken place during the last 60 years were also discussed in these three days. The chief guest of the closing session on Sunday was former chief secretary of the State government, Indu Kumar Pandey who said that library professionals associated with digital and modern communication technology have an important role to play in smart and digital libraries. He said that any new technology can be useful if it is used in a step-by-step manner as it assures its smooth usage by all.
