Depressed over her youtubes of Garhwali songs not getting the desired response, a 22-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging. The incident happened in Chandrabani area of Patelnagar in Dehradun. Her body was found in her room. Police sent the body for postmortem. No suicide note was found. However, it is learnt that her parents put pressure on her to stop her excessive engagement with youtube and carry on with her studies. Police said this was the trigger of her suicide. Police further said that she had got her identity in the youtube channel as Lata Adhikari. She was running a youtube channel which had over 1000 subscribers. She used to give voice to Garhwali songs and put them on the youtube channel.
