Youth killed, another inured in group clash in Ramnagar

A youth was killed and another was seriously injured when two groups clashed here late Friday night. The father of the deceased- identified as 23-year-old Mohammad Sarim, resident of Berajhal- lodged a complaint at the police station. The injured was identified as Sikandar, the station house officer at Ramnagar police station, Arun Kumar Saini said, adding that the violent clash had happened near the Truck Union office at around 11 PM on Friday.
Revealing details, he said that one Avinash alias Chui, resident of Lootabarh, had been allegedly stalking and harassing Sikandar’s girlfriend, resident of Gularghati. Sikandar and Avinash had been fighting over it for several days and on Friday night, things took a violent turn as the two groups came face to face. “There was a fierce fight with both groups using sharp-edged objects in their attacks. Sikandar was seriously injured while Sarim who belonged to Avinash’s group died,” he said.
As per police, the deceased’s body
bore marks of attacks by some sharp weapons on his chest. A case was registered and police are on the lookout for the accused.
