Provide masks to penalised persons: CM

TSR asks officials to remain focussed during the upcoming festival season so that the contagion of Covid-19 remains under control

The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has directed the officials to speed up the awareness campaign for effective control of Covid-19 in the state.  He gave these orders while taking a meeting on Covid-19 at the state secretariat on Friday. In the meeting the CM said that stickers on every household, tourist and religious places, offices and vehicles should be pasted. He suggested that the support of public representatives, social organisations and NGOs should be taken in this activity.  Rawat said that the tourism activity has gathered momentum in the state and the festival season too is starting and in view of them,  all arrangements regarding use of masks, social distancing should be made as per the guidelines. He said that there is a need to start an awareness campaign on a large scale for preventing the spread of the disease. He suggested that masks should be provided to the persons who are being penalised for not wearing them. On a stern note he said that regular monitoring of the number of times the senior doctors are visiting and checking Covid-19 patients should be done.

Rawat said that though the spread of disease is under control, there is a need to be more vigilant on the disease front. He said that the role of police would be important during the upcoming festival period.

The chief secretary Om Prakash said that special focus should be on public awareness and sensitive administration. He said that complete analysis of the efforts made to control the disease should be done and grey areas should be identified for improvement. The CS said that the Ayush Kits for pre Covid and post Covid patients should reach people. He directed the District Magistrates (DM) to increase True Nat testing of Covid-19 samples.

Secretary, health Amit Singh Negi said that special focus on Covid control room management should be done and patients in home isolation should be provided with kits without delay. Negi said that sanitation, sanitisation, food and health check-up should be streamlined in Covid care centres. He also asked the officials to ensure less pendency of testing.

The additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, Director General (DG) Law and Order Ashok Kumar, Secretary R K Sudhanshu, Nitesh Jha, S A Murugeshan, IG Sanjay Gunjyal, Director General (DG) information Dr Meharban Singh Bisht, DG health, Dr Amita Upreti attended the meeting. The District Magistrates, SSPs and Chief Medical Officers (CMO) of all the districts attended the meeting through video conferencing.
