The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders observed a day-long mass fast on Sunday in the party’s office in Dehradun to protest against the arrest of Delhi chief minister and the party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal. The party’s State in- charge Varinder Kumar Goyal said that the party held protest against the BJP- led government who is using authorities like puppets for its political gains.

He alleged that the government has crossed all limits of tyranny by conspiring and misusing national agencies to get Kejriwal arrested by implicating him in a false case. This is nothing but a brutal murder of democracy. He claimed that today not just India but the entire world is talking about how the government is killing democracy and moving towards dictatorship.

Everyone knows that the government implicated Kejriwal and other AAP leaders in false cases through a conspiracy. The public will give their response to this dictatorial behaviour during Lok Sabha elections, he added. Besides Goyal, AAP leader SS Kaler, Uma Sisodia and Ravindra Anand among others also participated in the mass fasting.
