Winter session of U’khand assembly to start from Dec’4
Cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik to function as Parliamentary Affairs Minister and would also reply the questions on departments headed by CM
The Winter session of Uttarakhand Assembly would commence from December 4 in Dehradun. The secretary of the Uttarakhand Assembly, Jagdish Chandra, said that the Governor of Uttarakhand has convened third session of year 2019 of fourth Vidhan Sabha from 11 am on December 4.
In the session, the Government spokesperson and the Urban Development and Housing Minister Madan Kaushik would dispose of the works related to the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry. He would also reply all the questions related to the departments headed by the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. In a letter to the speaker Premchand Agarwal, the CM informed that Kaushik would oversee the parliamentary affairs and also respond to the questions directed to the departments headed by him.
The notification on the dates and place of the Winter session of Assembly on Friday cleared air about the session. Debate was going on in various quarters about rationale of holding session in Dehradun. It is worth mentioning here that the Uttarakhand Assembly has passed a resolution that one session in year would be held at Gairsain. Incidentally, no session has been convened at Gairsain this year.
It is learnt that the Government was not interested in holding session at Gairsain at peak of winters as many members of the Assembly are on wrong side of the age.
The Assembly Speaker Premchand Agarwal also joined the debate regarding the place of holding the session. Earlier on Thursday, he had said that the Vidhan Sabha secretariat is ready to hold session at Gairsain.
