A passenger who slipped from a moving train was rescued in time by a constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Haridwar railway station on Sunday. The young man was trying to board a train when his foot slipped and he narrowly escaped from falling under the moving train. He was pulled out to safety just in time by an RPF constable. The passenger escaped with minor injury.

Patna resident Rishu was trying to board the Kumbh Express. His foot slipped while he was attempting to board the train. As a result, he got stuck between the train and the platform.  Noticing the situation, RPF constable Mukesh Kumar rushed and pulled the passenger out of harm’s way. Kumar said that he was standing on the platform when he saw a passenger stuck in the narrow gap between the moving train and the platform. “I pulled him and tried to save him. This is my duty and I am happy that he is all right,” said the RPF constable.

RPF Haridwar assistant commissioner Virendra Kumar Mishra said that constable Kumar had discharged his duty in an appreciable manner by saving the passenger.
