The recent spell of pre-monsoon showers has resulted in a drop in temperatures which were reaching 40 degrees Celsius in the plains. Though there has been some rise in the temperatures after a brief lull in the rains, the weather is not expected to get that hot. Even as moderate rain was experienced in various parts of the State on Friday, the State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with lightning/hail and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts towards afternoon/evening on Saturday.  Apart from this, very light to light rainfall/thunderstorm are likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts, and at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the remaining districts. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the plains on Saturday.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively on Saturday.
