Weather warning issued again after brief lull

After a brief lull lasting a day, parts of the State may once again experience inclement weather on Friday, especially in five districts. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with hail/lightning and gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Friday.

Further, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm are likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts towards the afternoon/evening. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State today. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively on Friday.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Thursday were 33.2 degrees Celsius and 20.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.3 degrees Celsius and 11.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 23 degrees Celsius and 14.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
