Weather fluctuation to continue- some parts to remain dry, others to witness rain

After a few days of rain and thunderstorms which brought much relief from the heat, people in Dehradun and other parts of the State experienced humidity and warmer temperatures on Monday.

The provisional State capital Dehradun witnessed humidity and warmer temperatures with many flocking to water bodies for relief from the weather. However, rain is forecast to provide relief from the heat and humidity in some parts of the State on Tuesday.  The State Meteorological Centre has forecast that light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts today. Further, very light to light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Almora, Champawat and Nainital districts. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in Dehradun, Pauri, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts on Tuesday.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky today. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, very light to moderate rain was reported in some parts of the State on Monday with 33.5 millimetres in Mukteshwar and trace rain some other areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places were 34.6 degrees Celsius and 22.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 37.1 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 23.4 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 23.6 degrees Celsius and 13.7 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
